A Letter From The Board
Dear TSRT District Leaders:
At the 2010 TSRT Annual Meet/ing in Knoxville, there were decisions made by the membership on several pressing issues. The first issue was to dissolve the Districts. The Board of Directors is mandated by ASRT to make sure each District is in compliance. The key disadvantage to being in non-compliance with the ASRT and the IRS is that the Districts cannot get ECE approval from the ASRT for free. The Board felt trying to oversee six districts would be much more difficult and the membership agreed.
With the Districts being dissolved, any monies you may have in your treasury should be sent to our Executive Secretary, Jan Stanfill. These funds will be placed in the TSRT account. There will not be a separate line item for each District. If we did this, it would indicate that we are still recognizing Districts. There will however be a line item for the Annual Conference with start up funds of $3000.
The second issue was exploring the possibility of creating a TSRT Meeting Coordinator position. The concept of this position would be beneficial, however at this time the TSRT is unable to support this position due to lack of funding. The Board moved to not create a Meeting Coordinator because of financial restraints. We will not hire an annual meeting coordinator but rather continue to research this proposal during annual meeting reforms.
The last issue is the rotation of the Annual Meeting since there are no longer Districts. The Board is still contemplating this issue. The 2012 Annual Meeting location has already been decided and plans are well on the way. It will be held in Johnson City. We will be discussing the rotation schedule at the Annual Meeting this year.
The TSRT has lots of changes on board for the future and it is going to take all of us working together in order for the TSRT to be viable and thrive. On behalf of the TSRT Board of Director I thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Cathy Parsons, B.S., R.T.(R)(M)(QM)FASRT
TSRT Board Chairman
Changes
As you may recall, last year the TSRT Board of Directors was mandated by the ASRT to make sure each District was in compliance with the IRS through the ASRT umbrella. The Board met and came up with some ideas. The information was posted on the TSRT Website so the issue could be discussed and decided on at the Annual Conference. At the 2010 Annual Conference in Knoxville, after much discussion, members voted to dissolve the Districts. Here is the part of the Bylaws that pertains to Districts. This section has been removed from the Bylaws and the sections that followed have been renumbered appropriately. These changes will be adopted by members at the 2011 Annual Conference in Tunica, Mississippi.
